Here's a little info about our amazing performers:
Andy Schmeder |
Andy Schmeder is a performance artist who co-curates, produces and sometimes performs at Foundry Nights. Here's a link to one of his performances there: http://vimeo.com/25678849. By day, Andy is vice president/technology at Enchroma, Inc.
Cheryl Leonard |
Claire Peaslee |
Claire Peaslee lives in greater Point Reyes and has regular conversations with birds and shrubs and the weather. She considers Action Theater, taught by Ruth Zaporah, a sort of life practice: "improvisation of presence"— isn't that the essence of a fun existence? Occasionally heard on public radio, or read in the pages of Bay Nature magazine, or discovered leading nature-laughter excursions in her greater back yard, Claire invites you to correspond via www.clairepeaslee.net.
Katarina Eriksson |
Katarina Eriksson has been involved in improvisational dance since 1989, collaborating with artists such as Julyen Hamilton, Cathie Caraker, and Karen Nelson. She teaches Contact Improvisation and other improvisational work in Europe and the US. Katarina's traditional dance background includes the Gothenburg State Theater and Opera. She produces the performance series Moment's Notice in Berkeley, which she co-founded in 2000. Her latest performance endeavors are: touring with Hoppalappa Postfolki Tanziteatteri in Sweden and Germany, dancing in a site-specific piece in Beirut, and directing inter-disciplinary performances in Massachusetts and New York.
Rosemary Hannon |
Ronja Ver has been living, loving, exploring, teaching and performing Contact Improvisation for almost 20 years. She is a dancer and dance maker, artist, activist, anarchist and teacher, a native of Finland, currently making work in the Bay Area. Her choreography has been presented by the American Dance Festival, Movement Research at the Judson Church, Danspace Project, Zodiak – Centre for New Dance, Aleksanterin Teatteri, among others. Former posts include the National Theatre of Finland, Beyond Improvisation Collective, and Riitta Vainio Dance Company. Since 2001 she has created several full evening works for both theater and found spaces. She has danced and collaborated in works by Nancy Stark Smith and Mike Vargas, Deborah Hay, Jaana Turunen, Keith Hennessy, David Hurwith, and was proud to perform in Steve Paxton’s DVD Material for the Spine. She is currently performing with Scott Wells and Dancers and Avy K Productions in San Francisco. She is a co-founder of the Finnish CI festival Skiing On Skin, and holds an MFA in Dance from Hollins University. Her website is www.ronjaver.net.
