On Sunday, March 18, at 7pm...

We're putting the finishing touches on the line-up for our next show — 7pm at Western Sky Studio, 2525 8th St., Berkeley,  tickets at the door: $8-$20 (sliding scale.)

Some terrific performers are joining us from out of town: Rhonda Morton (New York) and Rebecca Bryant (Indiana).  And, some of our favorite locals will be returning to Moment's Notice on March 18: Owen Walker, Cathie Caraker, Kim Criswell, Victoria Pizzinat Joy, and others.

Rhonda Morton
Rhonda Morton (Alligator Mouth Improv)  is teaming up with Owen Walker (Action Theater Bay Area) for a romp into the wilds of mind, music and madness.

Each has performed at Moment's Notice in the past, to much acclaim.

This is the first time we'll see them together as a trio — such a tantalizing combination!

(That's Rhonda at right. Sadly, the fountain will not be able to appear at Moment's Notice.)

Rebecca Bryant
Dancer/Improviser/Choreographer Rebecca Bryant creates performances that combine movement, text, video, sound and objects.  Known for her “wonderful insistence on making art about complex ideas” (Janice Steinberg, San Diego Union Tribune), Bryant is interested in blurring the lines that separate artistic disciplines as she addresses current societal phenomena.

In addition to solo work, she is an active collaborator, creating performances with Lower Left Performance Collective (dance/theater) and the Past Modern Performance Duo (dance/percussion/new media).  She has danced with renowned and emerging choreographers including Victoria Marks, Nina Martin, Wally Cardona, Kim Epifano, Shelley Senter, Lionel Popkin, Liam Clancy, Marianne Kim, RandĂ© Dorn, and Manuelito Biag.  Bryant has performed her work across the US and in Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Germany, Romania, Denmark, Norway and Sweden, with projects being supported by residencies at Djerassi Resident Artist Program (California) and Guapamacátaro Art and Ecology Residency (Mexico).

Dance critics have called Bryant’s work “humorous, subtle, and provocative” (David Lemberg, Artscape Media), “exploding with suggestions” (Zachary Whittenburg, Chicago Dancemakers Forum), and “a stunning and witty experience.” (Nancy Wozny, Dance Source Houston)  Bryant currently resides in Indiana where she is Assistant Professor of Dance at Purdue University, and continues to travel the world teaching ensemble improvisation, contact improvisation and contemporary technique.

Cathie Caraker
Cathie Caraker is an itinerant dance artist, teacher and performer. She has studied, taught, researched and performed widely, deeply and trans-continentally in the field of New Dance for 30+ years.

Cathie says that, as always, she is deeply grateful to the MoNo gals for this opportunity to no-know a bit more.

Vitta Joy

Kim Criswell and Victoria Pizzinat Joy improvise from their senses with humor and musicality to create playful, body-sound-and-soul-based, physical theater. On this Sunday before spring equinox, they'll seek inspiration from (human) nature. Perhaps they'll find balance between darkness and light.
